Conference Location

The Light, Friends House, 173-177 Euston Road, London. NW1 2BJ

The Light has been chosen as our conference location because:

  • It has been refurbished to meet high environmental standards;
  • Its accessible with excellent public transport;
  • The Quakers share our values of working for sustainability and peace;
  • They use some permaculture suppliers for their catering and have a great sourcing policy; and
  • It is a fantastic venue!

Getting there

Situated directly opposite Euston mainline station Friends House is within walking distance of King’s Cross and the Eurostar at St Pancras. In addition, Friends House has excellent underground links and frequent direct (and cheap) bus services to many parts of London. A network of cycle superhighways criss-cross the city that pass Euston.

Trains from the North of Britain all terminate at the nearby stations of Euston, King’s Cross or St. Pancras. Other rail terminals are easily reached by underground.

European participants can travel on the 30 daily Eurostar services from Paris and Brussels that terminate at London St. Pancras International.

For global attendees the nearby Paddington station offers a frequent and fast service to London Heathrow Airport (LHR). The other three international airports - Stansted (STN), Gatwick (LGW) and Luton (LTN) – are all an hour or less away by train.

Access to participation

The building is completely accessible for wheelchair users. The Light has built-in Hearing Induction Loops. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome. If you have specific requirements to help you participate fully please let us know in advance.
